The 1998 Working Times Directive requires employers to arrange regular medical assessments for all nightworkers. This can be initiated as part of an employment medical.
A new member of staff is a long term investment. It can be well worth establishing any health or fitness issues in advance of problems arising.
The simplest option, appropriate for many junior or clerical roles, uses employment health questionnaires completed by each prospective employee. After review by a doctor, we will return a summary report. In a very few cases, this might lead to a need for a physical examination.
A more thorough approach is to arrange an employment medical examination. Again,

Companies occasionally need an assessment by an independent doctor to establish what action to take for dealing with fit notes, long term sickness, workplace accidents or early retirement.
